What is a collet chuck?

A collet chuck, also known as a toolholder, is an essential component in wood and sheet metal machining. Collet chucks are a component of a CNC machine used to hold collets and cutting tools, such as drills, cutters and taps, and hold them in place during the machining process. A collet holder is a cylindrical or cone-shaped tool that consists of a holder body, into which a collet is inserted, and a clamping mechanism that provides a firm grip on the tool. The collet holder is then attached to the spindle of the machine, allowing the tool to be accurately and stably guided while machining the workpiece.

Types of collet chucks
