Milling cutters for Dibond, ACP and Alucobond (Alubond)
Milling cutters for Dibond, ACP and Alucobond (Alubond)
Dibond cutter – Cutters for Alucobond (Alubond), ACP and Dibond
Looking for a Dibond spiral cutter? We have the ultimate Dibond cutter in our range, developed in-house and specifically designed for milling Dibond, Alucobond, ACP, and Alubond on CNC milling machines. Our Dibond router bit is developed for clean and accurate machining on CNC milling machines. In addition to Dibond, this cutter is also suitable for machining other plastics such as polystyrene, ABS, (foamed) PVC, plexiglass (PMMA/Acrylic), acetate, hard rubber, Formica, methacrylate, and polycarbonate. It can also mill aluminum, wood, and sheet materials with ease.
Dibond folding cutter
Looking for a high-quality folding cutter for Dibond or a CNC cutter for Dibond processing? Explore our range of suitable cutters. These Dibond folding cutters are specially developed for machining Dibond, also known as ACP (Aluminum Composite Panel) and Alucobond. Depending on the required groove and finish, an ACP router bit can be used for accurate machining of composite panels.
Tips for milling Dibond
Dibond panels are made up of two thin layers of aluminum with a plastic core in between. These panels are widely used in construction and the advertising industry due to their lightweight, durability, and aesthetic appeal. An aluminium composite panel router bit allows these layered panels to be machined accurately while maintaining a clean edge finish.
Especially when creating complex shapes or when a clean edge finish is required, it's recommended to mill Dibond rather than cut it. Milling Dibond is done with a router or CNC milling machine. It's crucial to use a sharp cutter, and the chip removal system should be kept clear.
A V groove cutter for Dibond is suitable when a V-shaped groove is required for folding or bending the panel. Unlike the common advice for milling metals in the direction of the cutter movement, Dibond panels and aluminum composite panels require a different approach. For the best edge finish, it's recommended to mill these panels against the rotation direction of the cutter.
As with all Dibond processing, providing proper support for both the panel and the cutter is essential. To avoid vibrations from the ACP panel during milling, it's advisable to work on a wooden surface that allows the cutter to move smoothly.
