Cutting Trespa and HPL sheets
High Pressure Laminate (HPL) sheets, such as the well-known Trespa, are renowned for their excellent weather resistance. These sheets are made from wood fibers, paper, and resin that are compressed under high pressure. The result is an extremely strong and durable sheet material with a very compact structure.
Do you want to cut Trespa or HPL sheets with a hand circular saw? It’s essential to use the right saw blade when cutting Trespa or other HPL sheets. The best circular saw blade for cutting HPL or Trespa is a carbide-tipped (HM) hand saw blade with trapezoidal flat teeth and a negative rake angle, such as our product number 1026. Are you looking for a different circular saw blade for cutting Trespa? Take a look at our Trespa saw blade page.
For the saw depth, it’s recommended to take three to four times the thickness of the sheet. It’s best to have the teeth enter on the side with the decorative layer and let the saw do the work. Cut the sheet with a high speed and ensure that the sole of the circular saw lies completely flat with the sheet when starting the cut. Any sharp edges that arise after cutting can be smoothed with sandpaper or our special Trespa router.
