Trespa saws - circular saws for Trespa

Trespa® is the brand name for High Pressure Laminate (HPL) panels and is perhaps the largest and best known HPL brand in the Netherlands. Trespa panels are extremely suitable for outdoor use thanks to the durability of the material. The material is extremely weather resistant and sun, rain and UV radiation have no effect on the material. Trespa is therefore often used for facade cladding, windshields and fascias. In addition, Trespa can also be used for many other applications such as furniture for laboratory, research and educational environments, advertising signs and as a material for printing photos for the wall.

Trespa is a hard durable panel material with a dense structure due to the combination of wood fibers, paper and thermosetting resins. These materials are pressed together under high pressure resulting in a panel material that has many similarities to hardwood.

Can I saw Trespa?

Because Trespa® panels are of high and solid quality, many people ask whether Trespa panels are easy to saw. With the right tools and technique sawing Trespa is no problem at all. Sawing Trespa is best compared to sawing hardwood. Cutting Trespa with a hand saw is therefore not recommended. A Trespa panel can best be sawn with a jigsaw or circular saw blade.

We recommend always sawing Trespa with a circular saw for Trespa to ensure a nice tight cut. The most important thing when sawing Trespa is a sharp saw blade with fine teeth. For cutting Trespa we recommend choosing a change tooth or trapezoidal flat tooth circular saw blade. For cutting depth, it is recommended to take three to four times the panel thickness. When sawing Trespa, it is further important to have the saw blades of the saw blade enter the side with the decoration layer.

When sawing Trespa with a circular saw blade, the best results are achieved with a high RPM. With a high RPM, the saw blade cuts smoothly through the material. It is also important when sawing Trespa that the blade of the circular saw is completely flush with the panel when cutting the Trespa panel.

Frequently asked questions about Trespa milling:

Can you cut Trespa?

Do you have a task on your to-do list that involves sawing Trespa? Don't let stories about the difficulty of sawing Trespa discourage you. With the right saw, it is as easy to machine as any other sheet material. Trespa is best cut using a jigsaw or circular saw. To cut Trespa, follow these steps: - Always wear proper personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and hearing protection - Choose the right cutting tool: Use a fine saw blade with carbide teeth - Mark the cutting line. Use a pencil and ruler or other straight guide tool to accurately mark the cut line - Provide support. Make sure the Trespa panel is well supported during cutting. If the panel hangs freely, it may vibrate and lead to splinters or an inaccurate cut - Maintain a moderate cutting speed to avoid overheating the saw blade and possible damage to the material - If necessary, you can use sandpaper or a router to remove sharp edges after cutting.

What can you use to saw Trespa?

Trespa, also known as HPL (High Pressure Laminate), is best cut using a jigsaw, circular saw or handheld circular saw. Cutting Trespa with a hand saw is not recommended due to the hardness of the material. Prevent damage to the HPL panels by selecting the appropriate saw blade. If you use the appropriate saw blade, you can also consider using another circular saw machine, such as a crosscut saw or a saw table with an integrated circular saw.

What should you pay attention to when sawing Trespa?

When sawing Trespa, there are a number of points to watch out for the best result. A saw blade with changing teeth or a trapezoidal flat tooth is ideal for sawing Trespa with a (manual) circular saw blade. Set the depth of cut to 3 to 4 times the thickness of the panel. Run the saw across the back of the panel. Make use of the splinterguard. If it is not present on your tool, be sure to tape the saw line with thick painter's tape.
